AWESOME WEEKEND!!

WOW!!  We had an AWESOME weekend!  We spent the weekend playing games, going to the farms market, shopping, surfing, playing at the beach and celebrating my brother's 40th birthday!!

Austin caught a lot of really awesome looooonnnnnggggg waves and had a great time showing other people how to surf and boogie board...he seemed to have fun!

Dakota made everyone Baked Alaska...twice and got buried in the sand up to his chest!

Parker ran in and out of the ocean and played Rock Band with everyone at the house...it was a BLAST!!

Carson laid  down in the ocean and let the waves roll him around and then dug some BIG holes for people to be buried in!  It was GREAT!

Can't complain, it's been AWESOME at our little house by the beach!

I will try to blog again soon!

Having a BLAST!!

We are waiting for family to come into town tonight!!  Can't wait!  We are going to sit out on the patio, play games, talk, go surfing (or hang out on the beach), eat, drink and most of all enjoy the company.

The boys and I have had the best time sharing the duty of making Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough for ice cream while their cousins are in town...that was the BEST!!  They each took turns putting different ingredience in the mixer...turning it on and off...lifting and lowering the bowl...taste testing and laughing!

Sooooo....away we go, putting finishing touches on everything and picking up last minute things from the store.  I think Dakota, our 11 year old, is going to attempt to make Baked Alaska for everyone this weekend at our little house by the beach!! YUM!!

I will try to blog again soon!!

Life is wonderful!!

We have had a wonderful day!

Found out my 11 year old has a mandatory Science Fair Project, which he has chosen to build a structure out of straw bales and stucco to see if it is water proof and can withstand the weather.

My family got together and had a little BBQ, everyone chipped in.  The weather is beautiful, the ocean is so blue out of our front windows, just magnificent!!

Austin had his Surfing P.E. class this morning and it is just awesome to see him excel at something he genuinely enjoys.

Our 4 year old has put together a little "garden fence" for me out of scrap wood and nails and he colored all over it; to give it just the right touch!  I love it!!

Parker was a little quiet today and chose to curl-up under a blanket and watch a movie, "Old Dogs" and then ran around outside with his brothers.

I am just so blessed and couldn't ask for more!  Life is awesome at our little house by the beach!!

Maybe I can blog more later...now I have to go enjoy my life!!

Rollercoaster Day!

Well, I started off the day with great expectations that were immediately followed by feeling of "not being Mom today".  By the time Austin came home for lunch every other boy in the household was in BIG trouble.  As the day has progressed things are getting better...I think.  The dogs have tried to eat plastic, the neighbor is cutting down more bushes between our houses, as if they can't stand not to see what we are doing on our side of the fence; so in turn the dogs would not go out and take care of their business, they just wanted to bark at the stranger on the fence-line.  After a bit everything settled down...no more barking or plastic eating but my 4 year old just informed me "We have dead dogs here!" because they wouldn't move for him to get into the kitchen for a snack.  My phone has also decided to go crazy and make noises to tell me I have received a message that isn't there.  So in turn, things are normal here at our little house by the beach!

I will try to blog again soon!

First Blog!

This blog is a space where I hope to share something about myself and my family.  Let's just start by saying I am a 37 year old wife and mother of four boys and two Yellow Labrador Retrievers.  My husband is our "bread winner" and that affords for me to stay at home with our four boys; Austin-16, Dakota-11, Parker-7 and Carson-4.  I homeschool Dakota and Parker, and I also try to keep up with Carson's daily need to learn his ABC's and 123's so he can start in school in the fall.  Austin goes to a traditional high school and seems to love it.

I have always been told I should write a book about all of the things that go on in our little family; you know, funny things the boys say or do or whatever.  But I say HA HA HA! When do I have time to write a book? So this blog will have to do; coming between school work, housework, yard work, playing with the dogs, playing with the boys and of course...trips to the beach.   Right now I have to get my eldest off to school and get the littlest some breakfast (since right now he has chosen a See's chocolate sucker and Cheese and Crackers).

Hope to post again soon!
